Why Spay or Neuter?

EVERY YEAR
Unplanned and unwanted litters create millions of homeless pets.  Spaying/neutering gets to the root of overpopulation of homeless pets as it prevents the birth of unwanted pets.

EVERY YEAR
  • Each adult dog can have 2 litters with an average of 4 puppies.
    • Puppies can be spay/neutered as early as 8 - 10 weeks, but should be spay/neutered before they are six months. (Please check with your local veterinarian for more specific information.)
  • Each adult cat can have 3 litters with an average of 4 kittens.
    • Cats can become pregnant as early as 4 - 6 months.
    • Cats can be spay/neutered as early as 8 - 10 weeks, but should be spay/neutered before they are three months. (Please check with your local veterinarian for more specific information.)
CURRENTLY
An estimated 35% of dogs and cats are not spay or neutered in the United States.  That is potentially 60 million animals that can produce unplanned or unwanted litter.

EVERY DAY
You can make a choice to protect your pet from the possibility of producing an unplanned or unwanted litter.  The choice is yours.
