Chadron, Ne-Chadron Public Library to Reopen with Limitations, Monday, June 8.
Chadron Public Library will reopen Monday, June 8, at 10:00 a.m. Due to the active presence in some Panhandle and South Dakota communities of COVID-19 cases, and considering the narrowness of the space and the low functionality of the library building, temporary limitations have been set in place.
During this period, the library will be open in increments of 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The two levels of the library will be internally disconnected from each other.
Ten people will be allowed in the building at a time (five upstairs, five downstairs).
There will be a 15-minute gap between openings, to permit staff to quickly clean and disinfect.
Patrons will be asked to not enter if coughing, sneezing or carrying a fever.
Everyone will be encouraged to wear a mask (free masks will be available-one per patron for the duration).
Visits will be limited to one per person per day to permit to as many patrons as possible the use of the facility.
Library operations will be limited to holds, orders and ILL (when possible) pick-up, library card application and pick-up, quick account questions, computer usage (30 minutes) and external book return only.
We remind patrons that these limitations are only a temporary response to the COVID-19 virus spread, and that they may be changed and/or re-arranged according to the evolution of the situation. We hope that our efforts will keep each and every one healthy and safe. Moreover, we hope for a quick return to normal hours and operations.
