Shoot for the Sky: Photographing the sun, moon, and stars with Justin Haag
As a primer to capturing the solar eclipse, NEBRASKAland Magazine photographer Justin Haag provides tips and relates experiences photographing objects above, during both night and day. All participants will receive a free pair of Eclipse glasses*.

Harnessing the Power of the Sun with Dr. Roger Wess & Miles Bannan followed by a hands-on activity led by Dr. Ann Buchmann
Learn how solar cells work to harness the renewable energy of the sun. Find out about community solar projects in Chadron. Make a simple solar cell. Whether you have new construction or an older home, you can reap the benefits of the sun. All participants will receive a free pair of eclipse glasses*.

Safe Eclipse Viewing with Elizabeth Dahl
You can see an eclipse projected through spaces in tree leaves and even through a colander. You can also build your own pinhole projector! Learn how to safely view the sun during the upcoming eclipse. All participants will receive a free pair of Eclipse glasses*.

Why can’t an astronaut eat a sandwich on the Space Station? Come learn about nutrition and how astronauts eat in space! Then develop your own recipe and make food an astronaut might like to eat.

Join us for popcorn and a movie featuring an eclipse in the storyline! Plot summary (from Rotten Tomatoes): In medieval France, a young pickpocket played by Matthew Broderick befriends a knight (Rutger Hauer) who has fallen under a strange curse. It is soon up to the pickpocket to help reunite the knight and his lady love Isabeau d'Anjou (Michelle Pfeiffer) and defeat the evil bishop behind the curse in this romantic fantasy film. PG-13 (adult situations/language, violence). All participants will receive a free pair of Eclipse glasses*.

We are throwing an Eclipse Party and you are invited! Join us and celebrate as the skies darken and the moon covers over 99% of the sun! We’ll have shade, lunch & refreshments, chairs, and Eclipse glasses.*

NASA will be covering eclipse as the shadow of the moon travels across the country.

Come see a real NASA spacesuit. Have your picture taken from the moon using our green screen and real images of the moon from NASA. Awesome! The spacesuit is part of a special traveling exhibit from NASA Johnson Space Center and is sponsored by Chadron Chamber of Commerce
